Description
A particularly pleasing bottling of Peruvian rum from Plantation! This one was distilled in 2006 and aged in tropical climate for 11 years before it was transferred to France for a further two years of ageing in Ferrand casks. Eventually, it was bottled at 43.1% ABV, complete with the classic Plantation twine-wrapped bottle.
Country: Peru
ABV: 43.1%
Nose: Pastry-like, it starts on caramel, ripe figs both the fruit and the leaf, licorice and molasses.
Taste: Not super oily but delicate and lush with building intensity, lots of carmalized bananas, brown sugars, date squares, prunes, anise
Finish: Long finish with hints of dried fruit, cinnamon and nuts.
