Description
The young, fresh and versatile one. It’s aged at least two years and made from light, easy-going cognacs, mostly from the Fins Bois cru, with some Bons Bois and a touch of Petite Champagne.
What makes it different: Many VS cognacs are harsh and only good for mixing, but Merlet’s is gentle enough to sip. It won silver at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Tasting notes: Straw in colour, with a delicate nose led by the spirit itself and hints of vanilla and pear. The palate is light, with subtle wood. It’s best as a long drink with soda or sparkling water, and a great choice for a cognac highball.
