Description
A raspberry liqueur made using the same fruit-first method.
Tasting notes: Deep, dark ruby. The nose shows slightly jammy raspberry with a touch of cocoa and spice. The palate is supple, fruity and sweet, with hints of dried tomato and brown sugar. The finish is very long, slightly tangy and mineral. Enjoy it over ice, with sparkling water, in a Kir Royal, or in a Raspberry Collins.
About Merlet’s fruit liqueurs: In 1979 Gilles Merlet planted his first blackcurrant bushes in the Cognac region. The berries were so good that in 1983 he created his own Crème de Cassis de Saintonge, which also marked the birth of the Merlet brand. A full range of fruit liqueurs followed. Because the Merlets are fruit growers and winemakers themselves, they can work closely with partner growers and pick fruit at its ripest. The fruit is soaked in pure alcohol to draw out its flavour, then pressed and filtered. They control every stage, from sourcing to production, and use a very high concentration of fruit, which gives the liqueurs their intensity and complexity.
