It is aged for at least a year in oak barrels and has a light brown colour with amber hues

Taste: With the first sip of Fernet-Branca, the natural bitter taste of Fernet Branca and its herbs presents itself to the palette. There is an unexpected softness as the initial taste settles and the bitter taste becomes almost tannic. Sweeter, more delicate notes of plants and flowers come through, whilst the bitter taste lingers in the background.
