Citadelle Gin is a French brand of gin that was first released in 1996. It is produced by Maison Ferrand in Cognac, France. It is named after the only Royal Distillery in the 18th century that was built in Dunkirk, France.
Botanical: juniper, violet root, coriander, almond, lemon rind, orange peel, angelica, cardamom, cassia bark, cinnamon, licorice, grains of paradise, cubeb, cumin, savory, star anise, nutmeg, fennel and orris root.
Tasting notes: On the nose, juniper is prominent with orange loosely behind along with a refreshing green note from the cardamom in the mix. To taste, juniper and citrus are again apparent upfront with a dry, peppery finish.
